01What comparable vessels actually sold for
Not what they were listed at. Asking prices are public and sold prices are not, which is most of the gap between an owner's expectation and an offer — pricing here is informed by active sales data across the market your vessel trades in.
02Condition, hours and refit history
Engine hours, service records, electronics, canvas, paint and what has been done to the boat since it left the yard. Two identical hulls of the same year can sit a long way apart on this one factor alone.
03The yard, and what its name carries
A custom sportfish from a yard buyers ask for by name holds differently from a production hull of the same length, and the difference is not a percentage you can look up. It is what that builder's boats have been trading at.
04Where the boat is, and who is looking
Location, season and the state of the buyer pipeline all move a realistic number. We know who is looking along the Eastern Seaboard and in the Bahamas, what they want and what they will pay.
