Description

2009 Everglades 243 CC | Mercury Verado 300 XXL

This 2009 Everglades 243 CC has a single 2008 Mercury Verado 300 XXL with just over 912 hours. That is the maximum horsepower rating for the hull. The hull is blue with a light blue boot stripe, and the hardtop is finished in light blue underneath.

Bob Dougherty designed the 243 to run like a bay boat and an offshore boat at once. Draft is 16" at the hull, and the 19° deadrise and sharp entry handle a chop on the run out. Everglades builds the hull with its RAMCAP process: foam-cored, bonded as one part, and unsinkable.

She is set up for one person to run comfortably. The owner added SeaStar power-assist hydraulic steering and a Garmin autopilot. With the Verado's digital throttle and shift, that keeps the effort at the wheel light when docking, in a following sea or on a long run. A Power-Pole, worked from a switch at the helm, holds her in shallow water without dropping a hook.

The two aft seats fold down flush and turn the stern into an open casting deck. The bow seating does the same job forward. The low rails and pop-up cleats keep lines and nets clear.

The electronics are an all-Garmin package: a GPSMAP multifunction display, a VHF with DSC and the autopilot, with a Fusion stereo on the same network.
