Fountaine Pajot Building since 1976.
Jean-François Fountaine came back from the Montréal Olympics and started building dinghies near La Rochelle with three partners. Racing multihulls followed in 1981 — an 18-metre trimaran and a 21-metre catamaran, both polyester sandwich — and the Louisiane 37 of 1983 was the first cruising catamaran.
